New Jersey Department of Education:

• Facilitating communication among state agencies related to recent federal pregnancy prevention and intervention grants, leading to increased coordination and collaboration.
• Building professional learning communities (using the coordinated school health model)among health teachers, school nurses and other school staff with focus on HIV prevention and student sexual health in urban schools with the highest community rates of HIV, STDs and unintended pregnancy.
• Convening stakeholders who serve youth in detention (awaiting further adjudication or sentencing) on means to strengthen and extend programs that address at-risk sexual activity.
